SOCIAL CAPITAL STRENGTH STRATEGY FOR DEVELOPMENT KOPERASI PONDOK PESANTREN IN WEST SUMBAWA DISTRICT

Development of Islamic Boarding Schools Cooperation through strengthening social capital is an important thing to do. Strategies for strengthening social capital include strengthening trusts, norms, and networks on Islamic Boarding Schools Cooperation. His is important to do because the existing social capital cannot yet be fully utilized in the context of developing on Islamic Boarding Schools Cooperation to develop business units owned. The purpose of this study are as follows: (1) analyze the conditions of social capital in Islamic Boarding School Cooperation; (2) analyze the performance of Islamic Boarding School Cooperation in developing productive businesses, and (3) formulate strategies for developing of Islamic boarding schools cooperation through strengthening social capital. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative and quantitative research approach. Qualitative data collection is done by using document studies, observations, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions as well as quantitative data collection using a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the social capital of Islamic Boarding School Cooperation on the aspect of trust is quite strong, while the norm and network aspects are not yet strong enough to support the success and development of productive enterprises or Islamic Boarding School Cooperation business units. Islamic Boarding School Cooperation has a performance and is not optimal in developing its own productive businesses. With this performance, each Islamic Boarding School Cooperation has advantages and disadvantages in the process of developing a productive business owned. The strategy for developing Islamic Boarding Schools Cooperation through social capital is carried out in a participatory manner by taking into account the potential of the board and members as well as the business units they have. The strategies formulated as follows: (1) strengthening of trust in Islamic Boarding School Cooperation; (2) strengthening norms in Islamic Boarding School Cooperation; and (3) strengthening the Islamic Boarding School Cooperation network.
